Plasticizers Test / Endocrine Disruptors

190 €

Indoor air quality diagnosis. Measures the pollution of the indoor environment by phthalate, bisphenol and organophosphate plasticizers. Analysis by a certified laboratory.

Plastic is ubiquitous in the interior environment of homes and offices. During its manufacture, chemical plasticizing additives are added to modify its physical and mechanical properties.

These molecules of the phthalates, bisphenols and organophosphates family contaminate the indoor environment.

What are the main health effects of plasticizers?

Some plasticizers are classified by the European Union as Substances of Very High Concern for Health (SVHC).

The main health effects observed are :

  •     Reprotoxic (impaired fertility)
  •     Endocrine disruptors
  •     Neurological disorders
  •     Malformations of the genital organs

Most plasticizers show health effects at low doses of exposure, effects that can happen years after exposure.

Due to their toxicity, several plasticizers such as bisphenol A have been banned and substituted with other equally harmful plasticizers from the same family.

Two levels of analysis are proposed:

ESSENTIAL

The ESSENTIAL level analysis focuses on the most hazardous chemicals that have been classified as high priority for health by international health authorities, including WHO, US EPA, ANSES and HEALTH CANADA.

INTEGRAL

The INTEGRAL level analysis includes anyone of the ESSENTIAL level chemicals as well as an extensive list of other common indoor air pollutants of health concern.

What are the pollutants sought in the YOOTEST Plasticizer Test?

The complete list of plasticizers searched for is available here: YOOTEST molecules Plasticizers

What are the benefits of using a YOOTEST plasticizer kit?

YOOTEST allows you to test the quality of your indoor air with great precision.

The selected pollutants are measured in the laboratory using state-of-the-art technology to ensure measurements below the international health reference values for the most dangerous air pollutants in indoor air.

  • The analytical test can be used by anyone, dust sampling is very simple to perform and does not require technical or scientific expertise
  • A step-by-step instruction manual describing the operations to be carried out to perform your indoor air sampling is provided with the unique identifier of your analytical test.
  • The international prepaid return of the sample is included in your kit.
  • Your dust sample is analyzed by a certified laboratory selected for its expertise in the analysis of plasticizers in dust.

Available within 10 working days, your analysis report:

  • Presents the concentration of each plasticizer detected expressed in ng/g (nanogram of plasticizer per gram of dust). This is compared to the values of the main international standards and allows you to interpret the level of pollution of your home or office by plasticizers.
  • Gives toxicological information on the measured plasticizers.
  • Proposes simple and effective solutions to improve the quality of your indoor air on a daily basis.
  • Presents the main technologies available to purify your indoor air.

What does the YOOTEST Plasticizers Kit include?

  • A step-by-step instruction manual describing the operations to be carried out to take your sample.
  • A vacuum cleaner nozzle equipped with a filter to collect the dust sample.
  • A sampling sheet indicating the parameters necessary for the interpretation of the results in the laboratory (sampling location, dates and times of sampling, etc...).
  • The analysis of your sample by a laboratory specialized in the analysis of plasticizers in dust.
  • A detailed and interpreted report with advice on how to improve the quality of your indoor environment.
  •
  •  A prepaid envelope for transporting your dust sample to the laboratory.
  •

How to use your Plasticizer Detection Test?

The contamination of the indoor environment by plasticizers is assessed by measuring them in a dust sample taken from the selected room.

The sampling device included in the YOOTEST Plasticizers kit consists of a nozzle to be attached to the hose of your vacuum cleaner.

Once the sampling is completed, the filter is returned to the laboratory with the sampling sheet and using the included prepaid envelope.

How many tests do I need?

It is recommended to use one test for a maximum area of 650 to 850 square feet (60 to 80 m2).

Children's bedrooms should be considered a priority as children are much more sensitive to the effects of plasticizers.
