Molds Test

200 €

Indoor air quality diagnosis. Measures the contamination of the indoor environment by molds and fungi. Analysis by a certified laboratory.

After a water damage or a moisture problem in a dwelling, the ambient conditions are favorable for the development of molds. These pathogenic micro-organisms quickly colonize the indoor environment of dwellings and release odors that irritate the respiratory tract, allergens and mycotoxins that are highly toxic to humans.

The YOOTEST Molds analysis test enables the precise measurement of indoor air pollution by mold and fungi.

You take a dust sample from the room you wish to analyze with a domestic vacuum cleaner fitted with a filter supplied.

You return your dust sample with the prepaid envelope provided.

Our expert laboratory analyses your samples and produces a comprehensive and comprehensible report including advice on how to improve the quality of your indoor air.

This test is also recommended after the cleaning and decontamination of areas invaded by mould and fungus, to check the effectiveness of the intervention and the quality of the treatment carried out, as a simple cleaning can create the illusion but is unfortunately not enough.

The use of fungicides is very frequent for the durable elimination of mold. It is therefore recommended to test the indoor environment for residues of toxic fungicides.

What are the benefits of using a YOOTEST Mould Kit?

  • The analysis test can be used by anyone, dust sampling is very simple to carry out and does not require any technical or scientific skill.
  • A step-by-step instruction manual describing the operations to be carried out to take your indoor air sample is provided with the unique identifier of your analysis test.
  • Your dust sample is analyzed by a certified laboratory selected for its expertise in dust mold analysis.
  • The international prepaid return of the sample is included in your kit.

Available within 15 working days, your analysis report:

  •  Presents the scientific name of the moulds detected and the concentration detected expressed in CFU/g (CFU: colony-forming unit per gram of dust).
  • Gives toxicological information on the moulds detected.
  • Suggests simple and effective solutions to limit the presence of mould in your indoor environment.
  • Presents the main technologies available to treat mold.

What are the biological pollutants researched by the YOOTEST Mould Kit?

The analysis of the dust sample focuses on the development of moulds present in the sample on specific culture media.

The identification carried out makes it possible to distinguish the different strains of molds, including the most harmful to health such as aspergillus or alternaria, and to determine the species precisely.

It is supplemented by a precise measurement of the number of units for each type of mold detected.

What does the YOOTEST Mould Kit include?

The YOOTEST Mould Test can be used by anyone without technical or scientific competence.

It includes the following items:

  • A step-by-step instruction manual describing the steps to be taken to carry out your sample.
  • A vacuum cleaner nozzle equipped with a filter to collect the dust sample.A sampling sheet indicating the parameters necessary for the interpretation of the results in the laboratory (sampling location, dates and times of sampling).
  • A prepaid envelope for transporting your dust sample to the laboratory.
  • The analysis of your sample by a laboratory specialized in mould analysis.
  • A detailed and interpreted report with advice on how to improve the quality of your indoor environment.

How do you use your Mould Detection Test?

Mould contamination of the indoor environment is assessed by identifying and quantifying the mould contained in a dust sample taken from the selected room.

The sampling device included in the YOOTEST Mould Kit consists of a nozzle to be attached to the vacuum cleaner hose.

Once the sampling is completed, the filter is returned to the laboratory with the sampling plug using the prepaid envelope provided.

How many tests do I need?

It is recommended to use one test for a maximum area of 650 to 850 square feet (60 to 80 m2).

Mold testing is strongly recommended after water damage or flooding, as infiltration into walls, floors or ceilings contributes to the creation of favorable conditions for mold growth.

A test can also be performed to verify the quality of the work done after water damage or flooding.
