Fire Damage Test

190 €

Indoor air quality diagnosis. Measures the pollution of the indoor environment by PAHs. Analysis by a certified laboratory.

During a fire, toxic soot is formed and diffuses into the air. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are chemicals formed during the combustion of materials and are present in significant quantities in soot.

These "markers" of the fire make it possible to assess contamination after a fire or after decontamination.

Benzo[a]pyrene (CAS NO. 50-32-8) and many other PAHs are classified as carcinogens and present a proven risk to human health.

The YOOTEST Pollution Fire Analysis Test provides an accurate measurement of indoor air pollution by benzo[a]pyrene and other PAHs.

You carry out the dust sampling in the room you wish to analyze with your domestic vacuum cleaner equipped with the filter included in the kit.

You return your dust sample with the prepaid envelope provided.

Our expert laboratory analyses your samples and produces a complete and comprehensible report including advice on how to improve the quality of your indoor air.

Two levels of analysis are proposed:

ESSENTIAL

The ESSENTIAL level analysis focuses on the most hazardous chemicals that have been classified as high priority for health by international health authorities, including WHO, US EPA, ANSES and HEALTH CANADA.

INTEGRAL

The INTEGRAL level analysis includes anyone of the ESSENTIAL level chemicals as well as an extensive list of other common indoor air pollutants of health concern.

What are the pollutants sought in the YOOTEST Fire Damage Test?

The complete list of PAHs sought is available here : YOOTEST Fire Pollution Molecules

What are the benefits of using a YOOTEST Fire Pollution Test?

YOOTEST allows you to test the quality of your indoor air with great accuracy. The selected pollutants are measured in the laboratory using state-of-the-art technology to ensure measurements below the international health reference values for the most dangerous air pollutants in indoor air.

  • The analytical test can be used by anyone, dust sampling is very simple to perform and does not require technical or scientific expertise.
  • A step-by-step instruction manual describing the operations to be carried out to perform your indoor air sampling is provided with the unique identifier of your analytical test.
  • Your dust sample is analyzed by a certified laboratory selected for its expertise in the analysis of combustion residues in dust.
  • The international prepaid return of the sample is included in your kit.

Available within 10 working days, your analysis report :

  • Presents the concentration of each PAH detected expressed in µg/g (microgram of PAH per gram of dust). This is compared to the values of the main international standards and allows you to interpret the level of pollution of your home or office to combustion residues.
  • Gives toxicological information on the PAHs measured.
  • Proposes simple and effective solutions to improve the quality of your indoor air on a daily basis.
  • Presents the main technologies available to purify your indoor air.

What does the YOOTEST Fire Damage kit include?

This test can be used by anyone, without technical or scientific competence. It includes the following items:

  • A step-by-step instruction manual describing the operations to be carried out to take your sample.
  • A vacuum cleaner nozzle equipped with a filter for collecting the dust sample.
  • A sampling sheet indicating the parameters necessary for the interpretation of the results in the laboratory (sampling location, sampling dates and times, etc...).
  • A prepaid envelope for transporting your dust sample to the laboratory.
  • The analysis of your sample by a laboratory specialized in the analysis of PAHs in dust.
  • A detailed and interpreted report with advice on how to improve the quality of your indoor environment.

How to use your Fire DamageTest?

The contamination of the indoor environment by combustion residues is assessed by measuring polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in a dust sample taken from the selected room.

The sampling device included in the kit consists of a nozzle to be attached to the hose of your vacuum cleaner and a filter.

Once the sampling has been carried out, the filter is returned to the laboratory with the sampling form, using the prepaid envelope provided.

How many tests do I need?

It is recommended to use one test for a maximum area of 650 to 850 square feet (60 to 80 m2).

Children's rooms should be considered a priority because children are much more sensitive to the effects of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
