Pesticides are chemicals used to kill living organisms. Today there are several hundred active substances divided into different categories, mainly insecticides (insects), herbicides (plants) and fungicides (moulds and fungi).

These widely used chemicals are dangerous for humans and often have a high toxicity with carcinogenic, neurotoxic, harmful effects on reproduction, fertility and development. In addition, many of them are proven or suspected endocrine disruptors.

The YOOTEST Domestic Pesticides analytical test provides an accurate measurement of indoor air pollution from insecticides, herbicides and fungicides used in common household applications as well as the Stockholm Convention priority Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs).

You take a dust sample from the room you wish to analyze with your domestic vacuum cleaner equipped with a filter provided.

You return your dust sample with the prepaid envelope provided.

Our expert laboratory will analyze your sample and produce a comprehensive and comprehensible report including advice on how to improve the quality of your indoor air.

Two levels of analysis are proposed:

ESSENTIAL : The ESSENTIAL level analysis focuses on the most common pesticides in domestic use and persistent organic pollutants (POPs). Some of these chemicals are considered to be of high priority for human health by national and international health authorities, including WHO, US EPA, ANSES and HEALTH CANADA

INTEGRAL : The INTEGRAL level analysis covers the ESSENTIAL level chemicals as well as a selection of insecticides, herbicides and fungicides commonly measured in homes.

The analysis of the dust sample covers a selection of insecticides, herbicides and fungicides that are very commonly found in the indoor environment of homes and offices.

What does the YOOTEST Domestic Pesticides kit include?

• A vacuum cleaner nozzle equipped with a filter to collect your dust sample.
• A sampling sheet on which are indicated the parameters necessary for the interpretation of the results in the laboratory (sampling location, dates and times of sampling, etc...).
• A prepaid envelope for transporting your dust sample to the laboratory.
• The analysis of your sample by a laboratory specialized in the analysis of insecticides, herbicides and fungicides in dust.

How do you use your Domestic Pesticide Test?

The contamination of the indoor environment by pesticides is assessed by measuring them in a dust sample taken from the selected room.

The sampling device included in the YOOTEST Domestic Pesticides kit consists of a nozzle to be attached to the hose of your vacuum cleaner containing a filter.

Once the sampling is completed, the filter is returned to the laboratory with the sampling plug and using the included prepaid envelope.

How many tests do I need?

It is recommended to use one test for a maximum area of 650 to 850 square feet (60 to 80 m2).

Children's and pregnant women's bedrooms should be considered a priority because children are much more sensitive to the effects of pesticides.
