YOOTEST is committed to Participatory Science

YOOTEST, as a specialist in indoor air quality analysis tests, proposes to directly and concretely involve citizens in improving knowledge about indoor air pollution and the means to remedy it.

In recent years, the indoor air quality market has grown significantly as health authorities have become aware of the urgent need to take action to improve degraded and alarming situations.
Manufacturers have contributed to this growth by offering innovative solutions for the treatment and improvement of indoor air quality: low-emission paints, paints and depolluting materials, air treatment systems, etc.

All these innovations require, in the interest of the end user, a detailed evaluation of their effectiveness and the veracity of the claims made by the companies' marketing.

In this context, YOOTEST proposes to integrate the results of its measurements into research programmes in air quality and indoor environment.

The summary of the results of the research programmes shall be published and accessible to the public.

Indoor air pollution in buildings and its effects on the health of occupants have now been proven and have become a major public health concern.

With the objective of improving living conditions for as many people as possible, scientific knowledge on indoor air quality requires measurements to be taken.

The tools for testing indoor air quality and analysis offered by YOOTEST are the result of cutting-edge scientific research and benefit from the quality of laboratories certified for their skills in the field of chemical and biological analyses.

The analysis kits offered by YOOTEST are the most efficient on the indoor air quality market and are used in public research programs dedicated to indoor air.

YOOTEST is actively involved in research to advance scientific knowledge and better control indoor air quality in buildings.
To achieve this objective, YOOTEST sets up research programs accessible to the greatest number of people.

This private and participatory research is based on the following elements:

An undeniable need for scientific research

Indoor air quality measurement data is a real source of information to better understand indoor air quality. The interpretation of these data makes it possible to assess the health risks for occupants.

Indeed, for many substances, the incidence of chronic exposure and respiratory, cardiac, endocrine and cancer pathologies must be confirmed or established with certainty.

The use of household products, perfumes, essential oils, construction and renovation materials, the presence of furniture can degrade indoor air quality.
This knowledge is essential for:

  • make effective recommendations;
  • propose improvement actions;
  • identify materials that pose a risk to the health of occupants;
  • alert and inform on practices that may present a risk of pollution of the indoor environment.

Finally, the performance of aeration, ventilation and air treatment technologies must be evaluated.

Participatory Science: An alternative to the lack of public funding

Do you want to perform indoor air quality tests?

Thanks to YOOTEST you also participate in measurement campaigns as part of scientific studies on indoor air quality.

YOOTEST's objective is that everyone can participate and contribute to the scientific knowledge of the air and the indoor environment.

In a constrained economic context, States do not have all the means to finance research on indoor air quality, which is essential to limit the health risks of populations.

Indeed, poor indoor air quality in homes and workplaces costs several hundred billion euros each year in medical consultation and care, by reducing the intellectual and physical efficiency of employees...

Participatory scientific research appears to be the best solution for acting together on this public health issue that concerns all of us.

Individual investment is essential and more effective in advancing scientific knowledge and influencing policy.

YOOTEST attaches great importance to its customers and wishes them to participate and be involved in defining the research axes of the campaigns to measure air quality and the indoor environment.

Purpose of informing the public and health authorities

Sharing knowledge is essential to advance scientific research and enable as many people as possible to be informed about changes in indoor air quality and the best levers for action to improve indoor air quality.

The results obtained during the measurement campaigns will be used to write a synthesis. This document, reviewed and validated by our Scientific Council, will be distributed in particular:

  • health authorities and government agencies;
  • to associations ;
  • to the foundations;
  • to scientific research teams;
  • newspapers and publications for the public.

Scientific communication

Scientific peer-reviewed journals and journals are essential to enhance the value of the work carried out under the research programmes.

That is why YOOTEST partners with university research teams to write scientific publications and submit them to peer-reviewed journals.

For each research campaign, YOOTET undertakes to submit one or more scientific communications in scientific journals and journals.

Indeed, these publications are sometimes the only ones that are taken into account by the authorities when defining public health policies relating to chemicals, recommendations and regulations.

Guaranteed anonymity of participants

The procedures set up by YOOTEST guarantee the anonymity of participants.

Anonymous data are used as input data for the statistical study.

Personal data allowing the identification of participants are dissociated from the results of the measurements and responses to the questionnaires.
